Assignment 10
The deaf girl has an internal conflict of the fact that she is different and wants to be like everybody esle. The external conflict is that nobody thinks she can learn to play the volin which is what she wants to do. The other girl doesn’t think she can learn and says she is wasting people’s time and some of her classmates break her volin. but one man believes in her and makes her realize that she doesn’t have to be like everybody esle. She overcomes her conflicts in the end and do a very good job at the music contest and the other girl realizes that she was wrong but is very upset that she was proven wrong. The theme is if you try you can overcome things in your way and prove people wrong. The irony is that the antagonist ( the other girl) wants her to do bad and at the same time to not learn how to play the volin. I think the antagonist doesn’t want the protagonist to play the volin because she has a fear that she will be beter then she is. Which is what really winds up happening.
Assignment 9
I think the theme of Hamlet is complete revenge for being wronged. Hamlet is trying to get revenge for the death of his father and Laetes is doing the same thing with the bonus of revenge for Ophelia’s madness. Also death could be a theme for Hamlet because everybody is dying in the play-Old Hamlet, Cladius, Hamlet, Ophelia…
Assignment 8
I chose this picture because it shows a view of Hamlet’s relationship with Ophelia. In the play, Hamlet is mean and rude to her and this picture portrays Hamlet as loving Ophelia very much. In what we have read of Hamlet, we don’t really know if Hamlet loves Ophelia or was just using her to get something. Again this picture shows that Hamlet does love Ohpelia and I would like to think that he does. It would make what happens later very sad but a little romantic at the same time.
Assignment 7
There are many different superstitions about ghosts. Some people believe that ghosts gathered at crossroads and that people with freckles were avoided by ghosts. Also there is the superstition that dogs can see a ghost or know when one is around. Some people are fascinated by the idea that there is after dead. Other people believe that if you ask, ghosts can help you accomplish something but most people say you have to ask about something important not anything like ‘Help me get a new car.’ There are also people who say any and every superstition is unreasonable and irrational. We don’t really have many superstitions about ghosts, but we do light a candle for those who have gone before us on Halloween and their birthday. For us it is a way to remember those we have loved and lost.

Assignment 5
The media is always showing models that are very thin with waists the size of their arms. The media starts showing this tiny, unhealthy body shape to children with the Disney princesses. The media also shows a certain body image to guys as well. All the commercials for guys body wash, Axe and other ads show men with slender, athletic bodies. the media does not stop at just showing a perfect body image for women and young girls, it also shows a perfect body image for men as well. Some people are trying to change the way the media shows people but I think it will be a very long time before the shape of your body doesn’t matter anymore. the way people should not matter, it’s their personality that really matters.
